Time to beat the dead horse on Chad Mendes and Conor McGregor!
It's Chad Mendes again with a not so stunning revelation in statement about his past interim championship belt fight with Conor Mcgregor. We wish we could say we found surprise here but Chad Mendes has always been saying that with a full training camp he would be able to beat Conor McGregor and he still is sticking to his guns. But this time the former multiple time championship belt contender is saying that Nik Lentz would've been able to beat Conor Mcgregor. Yes the same Nik Lentz who has gone 1-2 since 2013 and has yet to be anybody of title contender quality. Here's what he had to say
"The only people that are questioning my conditioning are Conor McGregor nut-hangers, and that’s just because he said that," Mendes told Submission Radio. "And dude, look at my fight with Aldo. I fought Aldo, who’s one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. I went five rounds with him and pushed the pace the entire time."
"When I’m prepared, my cardio is never an issue. It never has been. There’s been one other fight with Nik Lentz, where I was sick and fought through it, and still beat that guy, who in my opinion would destroy Conor. So you’re always gonna get those people who are talking shit. And I don’t think my cardio is an issue. It never has been. I took that fight on short-notice, and that’s why it was an issue in that fight."
So this not only has been the situation of beating a dead horse, but it goes to question if Chad Mendes is really being more than a sore loser here. Sure no fighter likes to be beaten when they feel like they are not at their 100%, But is the suggestion that somebody that is out of the top 10 could beat the current interim champion a real statement? Or is Chad Mendes thinking outside of the box here and goading Conor McGregor into another fight this time with the controversial full training camp?
