Jon Jones Dominates Ciryl Gane at UFC 285! Is He The MMA GOAT Now?

We MMA fans have been waiting for 3 years since we have last seen the former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones step into the octagon and play his trade as one of the greatest MMA fighters we have ever seen.

Tonight in front of our very eyes we saw his return in probably one of his most dangerous fights taking on the UFC former interim champion in Ciryl Gane. a fighter who took the fight to the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, an elite and former UFC heavyweight champion who took the unanimous decision win over the french native after wrestling Gane to close out the fight that night.

We all were wondering how Jon Jones would perform in his first fight at heavyweight with the added weight and muscle mass that usually plagues Fighters that physically move up in weight not just move up a division while keeping their normal walk around weight and the divisions they fight in.

And in truth, we did not get that answer we were looking for as the UFC former light heavyweight champion and MMA goat put away the elite and dangerous Ciryl Gane away in less than 2 minutes in the first round with less than 20 strikes thrown between them.

But we got exactly the answer that we as MMA fans were looking for when we regard what to expect from a UFC Elite like Jon Jones. Dominance and control. Something that after UFC 285 has still left a lot of MMA fans and fighters in the UFC World completely stunned and dazzled.

Not at the way that Jon Jones performed but in how easy he made it look against the very top of the UFC heavyweight division a place where he should not be dominating after being gone for 3 years especially against the number one contender in the UFC rankings for the heavyweight division.
By having such a dominance return we can ask if and new UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones can't go fire rounds, we can ask if Jon Jones has the speed to fight some of the faster Fighters at heavyweight, we can ask if Jon Jones has the power to get into a brawl with some of the more heavy handed Fighters. But really can we all as MMA and UFC fans ask if he's really not the GOAT anymore?

Considering his competition, considering his achievements, considering his record defenses, considering his new status as a champion in two divisions. Should we really ask the question anymore?
