UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov Does Not Deserve #1 P4P. Sorry.

Khabib time has come to an end MMA fans but it has come to an end with a spectacular finish as Khabib Nurmagomedov vacates his UFC lightweight championship belt by retiring. Not just a fake retirement used by the likes of "certain" UFC champions and high-profile fighters but are real retirement that he promised to his mother and stands by keeping his word MMA fans.

But let's get to the heart and core of this UFC problem that we're currently having here. Fans, some Fighters and even Khabib himself have asked to be put as a number one pound-for-pound fighter on the planet in the UFC rankings.

Of course no one wants to know why are retiring undefeated reigning and defending champion who just lost his father months ago I'll request to be the pound-for-pound number one fighter, but with the one link amount of legitimacy that the UFC has this is not the right thing to do.

Yes we can take into account that Khabib Nurmagomedov has defeated two interim champions and a former two-division champion in Conor McGregor, but does that really given access to number one pound-for-pound champion?

Even if he were to land at number two let's take a look at the actual number one pound-for-pound Champion Jon Jones. I can feel the hate coming my way as I even mention the former UFC light heavyweight champions name. But it is what it is if I have to remind people.
Not only did Jon Jones defeat hyper aggressive and skilled Legend in Mauricio Shogun Rua but he also defended the belt against four former champions in Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, and Vitor Belfort.

Not only that but he went on to have 11 defenses for the light heavyweight belt one of those successfully against The undefeated at that time Daniel Cormier and then later defeating him again before having overturned ruling.

Sure Jon Jones might not have won every single round of competition like Khabib Nurmagomedov and technically has a loss on his record to Matt Hamill.

But we all know the real stats behind all of this and have to be a little bit objective here even in the hype of the whole tidal wave of the Khabib Nurmagomedov series of events MMA fans.

Khabib Nurmagomedov definitely deserves a conversation and one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time but to put them at the number one pound-for-pound at this current time even as much as we want to doesn't seem like the objective thing to do.

Side Note : Khabib was already the most violent man before he defeated Justin Gaethje tonight at UFC 254. Think about it.
