Is UFC 2 Division Fighter Khamzat Chimaev Really That Good?

Ever since the rising MMA Superstar Khamzat Chimaev has stepped onto the scene in the UFC 2 years ago, MMA fans have been on the bandwagon stating that he is the next biggest thing in MMA superstardom.

Considering the amount of hype along with the amount of bonuses that he is so far racked up it'ss kind of hard not to believe it.

So far he has won the UFC 2020 honors debut of the year, has managed to grab the record for the quickest three-fight win streak in modern UFC history within 66 days and also break the record for the fastest consecutive wins in modern UFC history with 10 days in between.

Add that to the fact that he has managed to bag performance of the night in every single fight so far and only managed to take four strikes total in between.

On paper he looks to be one of the most impressive fighters on the roster by far. Which UFC head honcho Dana White could not be more happy about considering the amount of eyes it brings to the organization.

But if we had to play Devil's Advocate and look at the actual inner workings, we would have to say that there is something that should put fans in a state of unease considering the newest hype train.

Two fighters were on very concerning skids prior to fighting him, one fighter was a debuting fighter, and the last being Li Jingliang being the most tenured and skilled fighter ranked at #13 on the roster.

We are by no means saying that these fighters could not pull off a win over the rising UFC superstar, but it's definitely something to consider in terms of taming the expectations of what fans can expect from such a rapidly pushed fighter.

Jumping from fighting the number 13th ranked fighter in the division to the number 2 ranked fighter is a really big jump which has something more to do with the UFC needing MMA Superstars rather than putting a prospect through their paces.

Which ensures that they have a legit fighting product with a long-term outlook in the sport. A well established division is more profitable in the long term rather than a new fighter already pushing NFTs right?

As well all know so far the UFC has been known to push prospects too fast and putting them in dire straits leading to very short careers and wondering what happened when they were expecting a Conor McGregor class superstar.

We can all name of few of those, but let's all not and enjoy the show so far as we continue to wonder IF Khamzat Chimaev can really continue wow us all by taking down the elite BJJ ace Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.
